The Village football team is one of the best teams in Grande Comore. It is known as Union Sportive de Selea (U.S.S).
Football is one of the most popular sports among the inahabitants of the village. In fact football is the only sport people feel very passoinate about compare to other sports events.
Through many years and generations U.S.S has always maintain a great performance and spirit in competitions. They always occupy top positions in the league and has establisghed excellent reputation in winning most of the championship titles on the Island. It is well-known in producing young talented and enthusiastic footballers, who play passionately with unique styles and techniques. Every football season on the Island, U.S.S always managed to finish first or second on top of the Comorian League. Dispite many problems within the Comorian Footbal League and numerous fighting attempts among football teams and supporters U.S.S never lose the spirit of the game.
Football dispute is not something strange for players and their fans. Supporters will always be outrageous to one another in and out of the football ground. It's just a part of the culture of the beautiful game. There is always those, who feel dissatisfied with decisions and results. Therefore, they end up reacting in anger and frustration on the basis of defeat.

Racing
Running races is also another popular activity in the village, Unfortunately no-one from the village ever been qualified for major competition outside of the Island.
Others sports being explored and played are basketball, beach games and swimming.
Playing cards and dominos are both observed as traditional games, particularly by the middle aged and old people. The two games are normally played in a special place, which designed for all social activities and events. The place is called 'Bangwe' in the local language, which means Club.
There are special times when these games can be played which are between 16.00pm-18.30pm.
Some times the kind of language being used during playing these games can be little bit censorious, but this is just part of entertainment, to keep the game rolling smoothly. Nevertheless, the game does require a lot of mathematical thinking and quick decision- taking.
Maraha is another exciting and challenging game, which many people in the Island enjoy playing. Mraha also is a very popular game in many countries in Africa, but of cause in Grande comore, Mraha is a phenomenal game to play and watch. Much concentration on the game and thinking mathematically are always the keys to winning this game. It is enjoyed with satisfaction especially by those who win.
Mraha game is played on a flat board with 32 holes dug into the board. Two contenders paly vas each other. Each one seat by one side of the board.
The game may look quite simple in the first instant, when watching others playing especially the professionals. But of cause this is not the case. One need to put his or her hands and brain in the game before making any assumptions on the game.
Learning how to play the game also depend on the individual abilities of grasping and absorbing new skills. Some people may take just few hours to learn how to play this game, some may take several months or even years, it's all depends on the individual abilities of learning new games and its rules.
Come and have a ago!
Before starting playing the game, you need to think about the style you are going to play with. Then eyes on the holes (and your oponents!).
